Blog: WRBH and Wendell Pierce Come Together To Help Blind Community
Wendell Pierce invites local blind community to his upcoming play with free tickets
Actor Wendell Pierce is inviting the local blind community to enjoy his upcoming play Brothers from the Bottom with free tickets to the June 27th matinee performance. Pierce generously donated 100 tickets to WRBH 88.3 FM Reading Radio, a New Orleans-based non-profit and national resource for the visually impaired for which he has become a prominent supporter.
Brothers from the Bottom, which is set in post-Katrina New Orleans and addresses neighborhood gentrification and its impact on two brothers and their families, is set to premiere at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) in June. The dates are June 5-28.
Tickets are available for the performance on:

WRBH (wrbh.org) will distribute free tickets to the June 27th matinee performance to the blind community in Greater New Orleans. The station will also give away some tickets to the public with a suggested donation of $30, face value, which will support WRBH’s mission of providing the blind and print impaired to have the same ease of access to current information as their sighted peers. All 100 tickets will include a meet and greet with Pierce.

In addition to Pierce (“The Wire,” “Treme,” “The Odd Couple”), who is co-producing the play, the cast includes Kevin Mambo, Toccarra Cash, Thaddeus Daniels, Wendell Franklin and Megan Robinson.
