Have you ever read breaking news on a web page? How about an article or two from Nola dot com on your tablet? Or possibly you’ve received a news alert sent directly to your cellular phone? It’s no secret that we live in a hyper current, on-demand society. A society in which (seemingly) every citizen has extensive, instant access to any and all of the news & entertainment that they could ever hope for.
Keeping this in mind, if it is our goal at WRBH to help make information more accessible to those that wouldn’t or couldn’t otherwise have access to it, shouldn’t the most current news possible be included in what we read here? If we truly want to provide the best accessibility that we can – and we have to means to deliver this type of content quickly and frequently— then why should our vision-impaired peers have to wait for the same breaking news that their sighted peers receive so quickly?
Enter WRBH’s News At Noon (or News@Noon for the more Twitter-generation savvy). Every weekday from noon until 12:30, WRBH is on the air with a live broadcast of the top local, national, and global news stories from sources like the Times-Picayune, The New Orleans Advocate, the Associated Press, USA Today, The New York Times, CNN, Fox News, and many more.
