No. 16 Baseball Returns to Action in Tampa Against USF

Tulane Baseball faces off against the University of South Florida tonight in Tampa, Florida at 5:30pm. The following WRBH programs will be pre-empted:

Tuesday:

NEW ORLEANS – Having last played nearly a week ago, No. 16 Tulane baseball will return to action when the Green Wave travel to Tampa, Florida, for a three-game American Athletic Conference series against USF, beginning Friday, May 6 at 5:30 p.m. CT.

Saturday’s game will take place at 5:30 p.m. CT and the series finale will be on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. CT. All three games will be broadcast on 88.3 FM WRBH.

Tulane – 28-14, 8-5 The American, .273 Team BA, 3.47 Team ERA
USF – 21-23, 6-9 The American, .248 Team BA, 3.78 Team ERA

LAST TIME OUT
-The Green Wave did not play a midweek contest this week due to finals on campus. This past weekend, Tulane and Houston only got two games in due to inclement weather in the Greater New Orleans area. The two teams split the series, with Tulane winning 10-4 on Saturday. Tulane is 6-1 in its last seven contests.

-Like the Green Wave, the Bulls did not play a midweek contest on Tuesday or Wednesday. USF is coming off a weekend in which they took two-of-three against UCF after dropping a midweek contest last week to FIU.

Friday – RHP Emerson Gibbs (TLN) – 4-2, 2.30 ERA, 62 K
             RHP Phoenix Sanders (USF) – 5-3, 3.15 ERA, 75 K

                  RHP Brandon Lawson (USF) – 4-3, 2.31 ERA, 83 K

Sunday – RHP Alex Massey (TLN) – 4-4, 5.04 ERA, 46 K

SERIES HISTORY
-Tulane leads the all-time series, 27-20
-Tulane took the series against USF last year at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, two games to one
-Tulane last traveled to USF in 2005
-USF head coach Mark Kingston was an as­sistant coach at Tulane from 2002-08
-USF assistant coach Billy Mohl played at Tu­lane (2003-06) and coached at Tulane in 2007
-David Pierce is 2-1 against USF as a head coach
